Frogfoot brings fibre to over 60 000 homes across Cape Town

Frogfoot has been rolling out fibre infrastructure across South Africa at a rapid pace as the fibre installation company continues its mission to provide lightning-fast coverage.

Head of Sales, Shane Chorley, "While we are looking primarily at the consumer market, there are opportunities to target certain types of smaller businesses that are based in and around the residential areas."

In 2019, over 2 351 192 metres were trenched with over 100 000 homes passed nationally in just 12 months. We are a staunch supporter of local ISPs in each area that fibre is laid and are hard at work arranging activations and informational sessions in new areas to help inform the residents of the process of fibre installations and how they can get their homes connected.

We have a variety of pricing options and packages from over 60 Internet Service Providers. This ensures that customers are provided with the best possible option for both their budget and their online needs.

The benefits of fibre

Fibre is up to 250 times faster than today's basic DSL broadband and packages range from 10Mbps to 1 Gbps. On a more reliable connection, customers can enjoy a stable Skype connection to family and friends with a crystal clear visual, as well as cut costs on phone calls by using VoIP or Voice over IP technology. This applies to both local and international calls and is a fraction of the current cost.

One of the most popular reasons to get fibre would, of course, be the ability to rapidly download or stream high definition TV shows, movies, music and online games with no interruptions or buffering.

Helping school children with a free 1GB fibre line

Schools in these areas have benefited from Frogfoot's School Promotion Campaign, which provides a free FTTH connection up to 1Gbps. Schools who fall within an area with Frogfoot coverage can apply for a fibre link by contacting their chosen ISP.

Areas already connected in the southern suburbs of Cape Town include Constantia, Tokai, Bergvliet, Meadowridge, Dreyersdal and more, while work is continuing along False Bay in Simons Town.
